Once upon a time, it was called the Civil Rights Movement.

Local Law 71 of 2013 (bias-based profiling)

NYC Human Rights Law

The law defined “bias-based profiling” and prohibited, via the Human Rights Law and the title of the Adminstrative Code dealing with the Police Department, police officers and the Police Department from engaging in such bias-based profiling. The law allowed for declaratory and injunctive relief only (not monetary damages).
