Local civil rights laws often provide greater protection against
housing discrimination than does the Fair Housing Act, but they are
often overlooked. We are hoping to build a library of these local
enactments, to encourage jurisdictions to replicate the progressive
elements that can be found in some of them, and to help us strategize
about how to broaden and strengthen protections even further.
